    Hello & Welcome!

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of the Embrace Recovery and Wellness family! If I go back to the very beginning of my career, that would bring us to the state of Maine, where I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington. Even though I was working, I felt there was a missing ingredient that brings me joy and that is connecting with others. When I realized what was missing in my life, I went back to school. Now, I have a Master’s degree from Wright State University in the Marriage and Family Counseling. I consider it a pleasure and an opportunity to work with clients as they transition through challenging life circumstances, enhance relationships, and discover how to make life style changes and/or discover coping techniques to manage mental illness or emotional disturbances.

As a counselor, my goal is to establish a warm and supportive relationship, free of judgment, and full of unconditional positive regard. By doing this, I take time to empathize with clients through their own eyes and collectively we develop an alliance and work towards goals as a team.

I work with young teenagers (12 years and older), adults, couples and families. In my studies, I have training and knowledge in various theoretical orientations. I do not rely on just one practice. I prefer to meet the client first and then correspond with the best theoretical orientation to the individual, couple, family or situation. First and foremost, counseling starts off with acceptance and empathy. I believe that successful treatment needs to be personalized to the individual and that treatment needs not only deal with the individual but the also the environmental elements that are impacting the individual as well. My approach is a holistic focused orientation. This approach explores the whole individual in an effort to break down barriers and resolve problems that are obstacles to success and happiness. I offer a person-centered approach, meaning every client creates unique goals pertinent to their situation. I also integrate a tailored blend of evidence based therapies including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness to help enhance the quality of my client’s life.
